Tax Services for Overseas Pakistanis (UK, UAE, Saudi Arabia & Worldwide)

If you live in the UK, UAE, Saudi Arabia or elsewhere and have income, property or assets in Pakistan, we help you meet your Pakistan tax obligations remotely and with confidence.

Overview

Overseas Pakistanis often have income, property or assets in Pakistan while living in the UK, UAE, Saudi Arabia or elsewhere. Pakistan’s tax rules apply to that income and those assets, and the rules differ depending on whether you are a resident or a non-resident for tax purposes.

We start by reviewing your residency status, then identify what has to be filed and when. We then prepare and file your Pakistan returns, advise on property transactions and rental income, and help you report foreign income and assets where that applies to you.

Everything can be done remotely. You share documents digitally, we prepare the work, and we keep you informed by WhatsApp, email or video call.

Why professional help makes a difference

Your residency status is checked first

Residency affects how your income is taxed and what you must report. We confirm it from the facts, including days spent in Pakistan.

Property tax at the right rate

Buying or selling property in Pakistan triggers withholding tax. Filer and non-filer rates differ, and overseas Pakistanis with a NICOP or POC have specific arrangements.

Double taxation is considered

If you pay tax abroad on income that is also taxed in Pakistan, a foreign tax credit or a tax treaty may reduce the double burden.

Service built for distance

Time zones and travel should not be barriers. We work digitally and in a way that fits your schedule abroad.

How it works

  1. Tell us your situationWhere you live, how long you spend in Pakistan, and what income, property or assets you have in Pakistan.
  2. Residency and tax reviewWe confirm how Pakistan tax applies to you and what must be filed.
  3. Prepare and file remotelyYou share documents digitally. We prepare the filings and file them on your behalf.
  4. Ongoing supportWe advise on property transactions, rental income and yearly filings so that nothing is missed.

Documents we typically ask for

  • CNIC or NICOP, and passport
  • Details of days spent in Pakistan during the year
  • Property documents and rental agreements
  • Pakistani bank statements
  • Foreign income and foreign asset details
  • Tax residency certificate or proof of overseas address, where relevant

The exact list depends on your case. We will confirm it after a short discussion.

Common mistakes we help you avoid

  • Assuming that living abroad means Pakistan tax no longer applies to Pakistani income or property.
  • Buying or selling property without checking the withholding tax and filer status first.
  • Not declaring rental income from Pakistani property.
  • Forgetting to report foreign accounts or assets where reporting is required.
  • Relying on informal advice instead of confirming your residency position.

Frequently asked questions

Am I a resident or non-resident for Pakistan tax?

Residency depends on the facts, mainly the number of days you spend in Pakistan in the tax year. In general a person who spends 183 days or more in the year is a resident, and other tests can apply in some cases. We confirm your position from your travel and work details.

Do I need to file a Pakistan return if I live abroad?

If you have taxable income in Pakistan, such as rent, or other circumstances that the law names, you may need to file even though you live abroad. We review your income and assets and tell you what is required.

What tax applies when I buy or sell property in Pakistan?

Withholding tax applies on purchase and sale of property, and the rate depends on whether you are a filer. Overseas Pakistanis who hold a NICOP or POC can get filer rates on certain property taxes. See our guide on filer rates under Sections 236C and 236K.

How is rental income from my Pakistani property taxed?

Rental income is taxable and has to be reported. How it is taxed depends on your circumstances. We calculate the position and prepare the return.

Can I avoid being taxed twice on the same income?

The law provides a foreign tax credit for tax paid abroad on income that is also taxable in Pakistan, and Pakistan has tax treaties with several countries. Whether and how much relief you get depends on the facts. See our guide on the foreign tax credit.

What about Roshan Digital Accounts and Naya Pakistan Certificates?

These have their own rules and tax treatment. If you hold them, tell us and we will explain how they affect your Pakistan reporting.

Can everything be done remotely?

Yes. You can share documents by WhatsApp or email, approve the work by message or call, and we file for you. If an original document is needed, we tell you what is required.

What documents will you need?

Your CNIC or NICOP and passport, details of days spent in Pakistan, property papers and rental agreements, Pakistani bank statements, and details of foreign income and assets. We confirm the list after a short call.
